About Us

The East Dubuque Fire Department is a small paid per call department that provides fire, rescue, and basic life support emergency medical service to approximately 1,700 people in our response area.  We are staffed by 36 members consisting of a fire chief, 1 assistant chief, 2 fire captains, 1 Training Captain 1 EMS captain, 3 lieutenants, 5 engineers and 22 firefighters/EMS personnel.  We operate out of two strategically located fire houses with the following apparatus; 3 engines, 1 medium duty rescue, 1 command vehicle,  1 BLS Ambulance, and 1 fire boat.   The fire department is part of the Illinois Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) and belongs to Division 49 which includes all fire departments in Jo Daviess County.

Our members strive to provide the highest level service to our community through effective training, emergency prevention and operational preparedness services, delivery of safety code compliance, educational programs, and community service to all who live, work, visit or invest in our community.
